Pride Health is hiring a Staff Pharmacist to support our client’s medical facility in Edison, NJ . This is a 13-week assignment (with the Possibility of extension or conversion) and a great opportunity to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Job Title: Staff Pharmacist

Location: Edison, NJ 08818

Shift:

Options: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM, or 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Schedule: Every third weekend is required

No holidays, no on-call, no floating

Facility Type: Acute Care Hospital

Guaranteed Hours: 40/week

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary:

The Staff Pharmacist is responsible for safe, accurate dispensing and monitoring of medication therapy in compliance with all federal/state regulations and hospital policies. This includes chemotherapy preparation, medication safety, and supervision of pharmacy support staff.

Key Responsibilities:

• Dispense medications and manage controlled substances in compliance with regulations
• Review medication orders and resolve discrepancies
• Monitor for drug interactions, allergies, and adverse reactions
• Prepare IV admixtures, TPN, and chemotherapy using aseptic technique in a USP 800-compliant environment
• Conduct unit inspections and manage emergency drug supplies
• Oversee and support pharmacy technicians and couriers
• Provide patient-centered care considering age, culture, and communication needs.

Required Experience & Skills:

• Minimum 1 year of acute care experience with chemotherapy
• Hands-on experience reviewing chemotherapy protocols and preparing patient-specific chemotherapy using closed system transfer devices
• NJ Pharmacist License
• Board Certification (Certified Pharmacist – ID 3725)
• Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy (BS or higher).

Preferred:

• 3+ years of hospital pharmacy experience.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Familiarity with unit dose dispensing and aseptic technique.
