Responsibilities Peraton is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Technical Writer to join our Federal Bureau of Prisons team. The ideal candidate will create clear, concise, and accurate documentation for our products, services, or internal processes. The Technical Writer will work closely with team personnel and the PM to gather technical information and transform it into contract deliverables, user-friendly guides, and other forms of documentation. This is a remote role, but candidates must live in the DC Metro area and travel to the office as needed. Key Responsibilities: Write, edit, and maintain documents and reports. Collaborate with the team and subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather and validate technical information. Simplify complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences. Ensure that documentation is consistent, easy to understand, and follows required standards and style guides. Review and update existing documentation to ensure accuracy and relevance. Organize and maintain a centralized document repository. Create visual aids (e.g., screenshots, diagrams) to enhance documentation. Stay up to date with product changes and incorporate these changes into documentation. Qualifications Required Qualifications: High School Diploma and Cybersecurity/IT security professional writing experience. Excellent written communication skills with a strong attention to detail. Familiarity with documentation tools (e.g., MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.). Ability to understand complex technical concepts and present them clearly and concisely. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects at once. Experience with version control systems is a plus. US Citizenship required. Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance. Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience supporting government contracts. Familiarity with agile development processes. Target Salary Range $30,000 - $48,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
