At 8x8, Senior Sales Engineers are instrumental in driving technical sales, acting as trusted advisors to prospects, customers, and partners. We seek a highly collaborative and strategic Senior Sales Engineer with deep experience in the Customer Experience (CX) industry, including CCaaS, CPaaS, or customer engagement platforms.

This role requires strong team synergy within the region and is not solely about individual success. Collaboration with Account Executives, Customer Success, Solutions Architects, and Channel Partners is essential. As part of the regional team, you will be key in aligning technology with customer needs, ensuring that every engagement is cohesive, strategic, and customer-focused.

Key Responsibilities
Function as an integrated member of the regional sales team, ensuring strong collaboration across Sales, Customer Success, and Solutions Consulting to drive customer success.
Partner with Account Executives to co-own sales cycles, providing technical expertise, competitive differentiation, and solution positioning.
Conduct impactful technical presentations and live demonstrations, articulating 8x8s CX solutions compellingly and strategically.
Lead customer discovery sessions to thoroughly understand business challenges and develop solutions that align with their goals.
Assist in RFP responses, solution proposals, and technical architectures, ensuring consistency and alignment across all regional engagements.
Act as a technical consultant, guiding customers and internal teams on CX transformation and best practices.
Share insights and collaborate with regional peers, helping strengthen the teams collective technical expertise and customer approach.
Work closely with Customer Success, Product, and Engineering teams to provide structured feedback, helping drive product innovation and improvements.
Address technical objections confidently, demonstrating problem-solving skills and ensuring smooth adoption of 8x8 solutions.
Represent 8x8 at industry events, partner meetups, and regional conferences when needed.

Qualifications & Experience
5+ years of experience in a Sales Engineering, Solutions Consulting, or Technical Pre-Sales role within the Customer Experience (CX) industry (CCaaS, CPaaS, or related fields).
Strong ability to collaborate within a regional team, ensuring alignment, knowledge-sharing, and a unified approach to customer engagement.
Proven experience in co-selling with Account Executives, Customer Success Managers, and Channel Partners to drive revenue and customer success.
Deep expertise in cloud communications, contact center platforms, customer engagement solutions, and enterprise telephony.
Ability to balance technical depth with strategic thinking, effectively aligning technology to business outcomes.
Experience with integration technologies (APIs, Webhooks, CRM, AI, and automation tools) is a plus.
Exceptional communication, presentation, and consultative selling skills.
Willingness to travel (10-20%) within the region for partner and customer engagements.

Hiring Process
Our selection process is designed to assess both technical expertise and sales acumen through a structured interview approach:
Round 1 Hiring Manager (45 min): Role overview, experience, and cultural fit discussion.
Round 2 Technical Deep Dive (45 min): Led by a Senior SE or Director to assess problem-solving, industry knowledge, and hands-on expertise.
Round 3 Sales Leadership (30 min): Sales acumen, consultative approach, and solution-selling discussions.
Round 4 VP Sales Engineering (30 min): Final assessment of overall fit, strategic mindset, and collaboration skills.
Final Stage Live Product Demonstration (60 min, for shortlisted candidates). Candidates will deliver a CX/CCaaS-focused product demonstration, following their usual customer engagement approach.
Evaluation criteria: presentation skills, business storytelling, value articulation vs. feature dumping, objection handling, time management, and closing skills

The compensation range reflects the Companys good faith belief at the time of posting. 8x8 has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistently in different geographic markets. The range above reflects the potential base pay across the U.S. for this role; the applicable base pay range will depend on what ultimately is determined to be the candidates primary work location. Further, individual base pay depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience, knowledge, success, education and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time. Certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including discretionary merit increases, bonus and/or stock. Certain roles have the opportunity to earn sales variable compensation incentives based on the terms of the plan and the employees role.

$183,375.00 - $305,625.00
