Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Network/Systems Engineer to design, implement, and support the Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) network. This role covers on-premises and cloud environments with a focus on security, reliability, and scalability. Onsite and remote support is required in a 24/7 environment.
Design, install, and support ITS networks (routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, load balancing).
Implement hybrid cloud/on-premises solutions.
Support Windows/Linux servers, VMware, and storage systems.
Maintain diagrams, documentation, and governance standards.
Provide 24/7 support and travel to MassDOT sites as needed.
8+ years in network/cloud engineering and systems integration.
Cisco routers/switches/firewalls ; routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, RIP, BGP).
VMware environments, storage, and fiber channel zoning.
Security tech: ACLs, Citrix NetScaler, VPN, enterprise wireless.
MODBUS protocol, Cisco DNAC, monitoring/observability tools.
Strong documentation skills (Visio).
Bachelor’s in CS, Telecommunications, or related field.
Relevant certifications (CCNP, CCIE, AWS, Azure).
40 lb. lifting, mobile phone, 24/7 on-call support.
Travel to field locations as needed.
