The Remote Proctor plays a key role in monitoring online assessments to ensure a secure, fair, and supportive testing environment. This position involves managing multiple systems simultaneously, assisting test takers with technical and access issues, and upholding academic integrity. Remote Proctors collaborate with team members to maintain policy compliance while fostering a professional, inclusive, and customer-service-oriented experience.Responsibilities:Manage Multiple Systems Simultaneously: Operate in a fast-paced proctoring environment using Google Suite databases, calendars, messaging channels, and multiple Google Chrome-enabled session tabs. Work collaboratively with a team of 24 proctors to monitor sessions, troubleshoot access and technical issues, assist test takers, and flag policy infringements.Foster Cultural Openness and Inclusivity: Interact closely with a diverse population of test takers who may experience anxiety, intellectual challenges, or pressure related to testing for credit. Maintain a professional, unbiased approach, free of cultural prejudice regarding religion, dress code, sexual preference or identity, minority status, or racial background. Prior experience in a multicultural environment is valued.Demonstrate Tech Savviness and Customer Service: Provide a high level of customer service by following troubleshooting guidelines, applying policies and procedures, and utilizing available tools and training materials to track and resolve common technical issues. Maintain an open willingness to learn, assist, and think creatively when helping test takers, while respecting set protocols.Act Proactively and Resiliently: Adapt quickly to policy changes, process modifications, last-minute issues, and special client instructions communicated through email notifications. Maintain flexibility and professionalism to meet the evolving needs of clients while delivering consistent, high-quality service.Exhibit Accountability and Ownership: Ensure reliable online presence at scheduled access times, taking full responsibility for booked sessions. Operate with self-sufficiency and loyalty to established policies and etiquette standards. Experienced proctors are expected to manage sessions independently with minimal need for management escalation.Provide Mature Oversight and Authority: Serve as a responsible presence, especially with underage test takersprimarily high school students. Uphold test integrity by issuing warnings and enforcing policies in cases of negligence, misbehavior, or inappropriate language. Apply clear action plans as outlined in company standards, balancing authority with understanding and tolerance for test takers nervousness.Qualifications: Preference for candidates located in the EDT time zone.Availability to proctor primarily during U.S. time zones, within the hours of 9:00 AM 5:00 PM PDT. Must be available for at least three time blocks per week, each a minimum of four hours, Monday through Friday.Willingness to attend at least two team meetings per month, scheduled during PDT business hours.Residency in a location with stable, high-speed internet. Minimum required connection:100 Mbps upload and 100 Mbps download speeds, or at least 50 Mbps upload and 50 Mbps download.Flexibility to work on Saturdays (9:00 AM 2:00 PM PDT) during the first two quarters of the year.Proficiency in Spanish or Chinese is a plus.Working fluency in English is required.
