Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Quality Manager to lead our quality operations from our U.S. headquarters, with direct oversight of quality teams in China. This role will ensure that products meet internal and external standards, comply with regulatory requirements, and align with global quality expectations. The successful candidate will serve as a critical liaison between U.S. operations, Chinese quality teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Department: Quality Assurance
  • Direct Reports: Quality team based in China (e.g., engineers, inspectors, QA supervisors)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage quality operations at supplier and manufacturing sites in China.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management to international quality teams.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality systems, procedures, and standards across all locations.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and sourcing teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Lead supplier quality audits and support supplier qualification and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor and report key quality metrics (e.g., defect rates, returns, customer complaints).
  • Coordinate product inspections, testing, and validations to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Communicate regularly with teams across time zones; may require early morning or evening meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable ISO standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO 9001, FDA, RoHS, REACH).
  • Support new product introductions (NPI) from a quality perspective in both U.S. and Chinese sites.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 7+ years of experience in quality management, including international team leadership.
  • Strong understanding of global quality systems and compliance requirements.
  • Experience working with manufacturing and supplier operations in China.
  • Proficiency in quality tools (FMEA, SPC, Six Sigma, root cause analysis).
  • Excellent communication and cross-cultural collaboration skills.
  • Ability to travel internationally up to 10–20% as needed.
  • Mandarin proficiency is a plus but not required.
  • Preferred Attributes:
  • CQE, CQA, or Six Sigma certification.
  • Experience in consumer electronics, automotive, medical devices, or other high-spec industries.
  • Demonstrated success in implementing quality improvements across multiple regions.
