Job Title: NBHWC Instructor (Contract)
Location: Remote

Job Summary:

We are seeking a contract-based NBC-HWC Instructor to deliver high-quality instruction for our upcoming health and wellness coaching certification program. This NBHWC-approved program is the first to specifically address the mental health challenges facing the internet generation, equipping coaches to support clients struggling with technology overuse, digital dependency, and related issues. The instructor will be responsible for facilitating engaging, evidence-informed learning experiences that meet NBHWC instructional hour and content requirements. The role averages approximately 10 hours per week per cohort, with multiple cohorts anticipated to be offered annually (the number of cohorts an instructor teaches is open for discussion) . Responsibilities may include both live and asynchronous teaching components, learner support, and assessment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Instructional Delivery: Facilitate live sessions using evidence-based practices that align with NBHWC standards, HGI's mission, and the HGI-developed curriculum and instructional framework.
  • Student Engagement & Support: Monitor learner participation and progress, provide timely feedback, and foster an inclusive, supportive learning environment.
  • Assessment Facilitation: Administer, grade, and provide feedback on formative and summative assessments, ensuring alignment with course objectives and evaluation standards, as needed.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and communications in accordance with HGI and NBHWC policies.
  • Curriculum Input: Recommend enhancements to course content and delivery based on student feedback, engagement trends, and professional insights (without direct curriculum development responsibilities).
  • Collaboration & Quality Assurance: Participate in instructor meetings and contribute to program consistency, instructional quality, and ongoing improvement efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Certified National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC) required.
  • At least 200 hours of health and wellness coaching experience.
  • Strong understanding and adherence of NBHWC Health and Wellness Scope of practice and Code of Ethics.
  • Proven ability to deliver educational content virtually.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • A master's degree in a health and wellness-related field.
  • Background in mental and behavioral health, including stress management, nutrition, physical activity, and promoting healthy digital habits such as screen time management and digital wellness.
  • Experience with learning management systems like Thinkific, LearnWorlds or similar platforms.

Contract Details:

  • Type: Independent Contractor (1099)
  • Hours: An average of 10 hours per week for each cohort annually (the number of cohorts taught is open for discussion)
  • Compensation: Competitive, based on experience and instructional hours delivered.
  • Duration: Initial contract of 6 months , with potential for renewal based on performance of the Program and Program needs.
