Aerotek is hiring MIG Welder's!

Job Description

Join our dynamic team to work on a wide variety of sheet metal and structural steel products, including guards, chutes, covers, conveyors, tanks, frames, and flumes. You will work with materials ranging from 14 gauge to 1/4-inch carbon steel and stainless steel, using your expertise in MIG welding and blueprint reading. This pays up to $25/hr and you receive a 15% shift premium.

Responsibilities

• Operate MIG welding machine, regulating current and voltage for proper fusion of metals, and adjusting pressures and flow of gas or other materials.
• Select appropriate materials and gauge of metal for projects.
• Interpret and work from engineering drawings, layouts, sketches, samples, prototypes, or verbal instructions.
• Utilize various hand and power tools to finish products.
• Grind out slag, burrs, and sharp edges using a portable grinder or sander.
• Inspect and mark part numbers on finished parts.
• Operate forklifts or overhead cranes to move parts and materials.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in MIG welding.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Experience with grinding, fitting, and finishing metal products.
• Knowledge of stainless steel and carbon steel welding.

Work Environment

This position requires working on the 2nd shift from 3:15 pm to 11:45 pm, with a 30-minute lunch break. Base shifts are 8 hours, with potential for 10-hour shifts as needed. Flexibility to work up to 8 hours on Saturdays is required. Temperature conditions may vary; however, fans and open doors help during the summer months, and cold drinks and frozen treats are provided.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
