Job Description

Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 13 years of experience in brand consulting or marketing, specifically for early-stage technology or marketing programs targeting technical audiences.
  • Experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience in developing and leading impactful social and content strategies, and engaging communities.
  • Experience managing and mentoring a team.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working in an early-stage product category or feature; comfortable leading in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Ability to collaborate across teams, build relationships, and influence at all levels and geographies.
  • Ability to develop data-driven strategies that generate meaningful insights.
  • Passion for AI and its capabilities, with an interest in experimental AI and technological leaps.
  • Strong creative judgment and experience guiding creative development with external and internal teams.

About The Job

AI is a transformative technology at Google, integral to many products and central to our future mission. The Marketing team plays a key role in establishing Google’s leadership in AI, reaching early adopters and developers, and inspiring innovation.

The AI marketing team is responsible for AI launches, bringing innovative technology to target audiences. We seek a creative leader to develop engagement programs and build a community around AI advancements.

As the leader of our early adopter and developer engagement team, you will craft social content strategies, oversee content production, and lead a team to execute high-impact campaigns. Success will be measured by community growth and engagement, reinforcing Google’s position as an AI thought leader.

You will report to the Director of AI Brand and work with the Global AI Brand Marketing team, which includes brand, narrative, content, and demo marketers.

Salary range in the US is $211,000-$297,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits. Exact compensation depends on location, skills, and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement social media content strategies for early adopters and developers, managing an ongoing editorial calendar.
  • Build relationships with AI influencers and community leaders to amplify messaging and foster a community.
  • Lead campaigns for key product launches to activate the community in social channels.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior leaders to align social strategies.
  • Manage a team of marketers and creators, focusing on execution, culture, and growth.
