Front-End Engineer – Machine Learning Platform (Contract)

Location: San Jose / San Francisco, CA (Open to remote, but preference for onsite)

Duration: 1 Year

About the Role:

We are looking for a passionate and talented Front-End Engineer to join a high-impact Search & Discovery team. In this role, you’ll be instrumental in designing and developing modern web applications that support a wide range of machine learning lifecycle workflows. You'll work closely with data scientists, engineers, product managers, and designers to build scalable, fault-tolerant, and user-centric solutions that drive impactful product experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect, design, and develop modern web applications that support ML workflows and internal evaluation tools.
• Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to implement robust, scalable, and reusable front-end components.
• Work closely with product managers and UX designers to bring new features to life.
• Optimize web applications for maximum speed, responsiveness, and scalability.
• Rapidly prototype features and iterate based on user feedback and testing.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, React JS, CSS, and HTML5.
• Strong track record of delivering clean, efficient, and maintainable UIs—both simple and complex.
• Solid experience working with web services, microservices, and RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with Java and Spring Boot back-end technologies.
• Experience with both relational (RDBMS) and NoSQL databases.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative mindset.
• Experience with SaaS products in the ML or data science domain is a plus.

Education & Experience:

• BS or MS in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 2–5 years of industry experience in front-end or full-stack web development.
