We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated facility IT Operations Manager to lead our facility IT operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of our facilities, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and security of our IT infrastructure. This includes managing a team of IT technicians, implementing best practices, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
1. Leadership & Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of IT operations staff, including supervisors, technicians, and engineers. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional development.
2. Operations Management: Oversee the daily operations of the facility, including server administration, network management, storage, backup, and disaster recovery processes. Ensure all systems are operating at peak efficiency.
3. Infrastructure Planning & Optimization: Plan and execute capacity planning activities to accommodate business growth. Optimize resource utilization and implement strategies to reduce operational costs without compromising service quality.
4. Security & Compliance: Implement and maintain strict security protocols and compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2, HIPAA) to safeguard against cyber threats and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
5. Incident Management: Establish and enforce incident response procedures to minimize downtime and service disruptions. Lead root cause analysis and drive corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
6. Project Management: Manage projects related to infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and new deployments. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
7. Budgeting & Cost Control: Develop and manage the department's annual budget. Track and report on expenses, identifying areas for cost savings and investment opportunities.
8. Vendor Management: Evaluate, select, and manage relationships with vendors and service providers. Negotiate contracts for hardware, software, and maintenance services. Manage the collocation DCs to ensure vendors are adhering to the SLAs per contractual terms.
9. Asset Mangement: Develop and maintain comprehensive asset management policies, procedures, and systems to track, monitor, and report on facility assets throughout their lifecycle. Conduct regular audits of physical and virtual assets to ensure accuracy in inventory records, compliance with licensing agreements, and timely identification of discrepancies.
10. Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies. Introduce innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency and service offerings.
Minimum qualification:
● Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
● Minimum of 5 years of experience in facility operations or IT infrastructure management
● Strong knowledge of facility infrastructure, including servers, storage systems, networking, virtualization, and cloud technologies. Prefer to have fundamental knowledge of asset management and physical secruity.
● Experience in managing budgets, vendor relationships, and contract negotiations.
Preferred qualification:
● Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
● 7+ years of experience in facility (10MW+) operation management with 3+ years of experience in leadership role.
● Knowledge of facility construction procedures.
● Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills to effectively manage teams and interact with stakeholders at all levels.
● Solid understanding of ITIL framework and project management methodologies.
● Demonstrated expertise in security and compliance regulations and asset management relevant to facility operations.
● Ability to think strategically, prioritise tasks, and make sound decisions under pressure.
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $133,200/year and $219,600/year. However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
