Abide, based in Omaha, Nebraska, is a non-profit, faith-based organization with a dream to revitalize the inner city. Abide uses a holistic approach that focuses on developing safer neighborhoods, building stronger families and emerging leaders. What You Will Do
The Development Director is responsible for Abide fundraising activities as well as fundraising events. This position reports directly to the COO and works closely with the COO and CEO. In addition, this position oversees the work of the development coordinators.
Job Overview:
· Lead and manage development team and responsibilities
· Audit and manage processes with organizations data base
· Maximize Abides development funding streams
· Lead and cultivate donor relationships
· Report to the COO and CEO
Key Responsibilities:
1. Raising a minimum of $1,500,000 each fiscal year through private special funding, multi-year commitments, and gift planning. Recommend donation of appreciated assets whenever possible.
2. Sets the strategic plan for receiving funds and providing a stable funding stream consistent with the organizational strategic plan.
3. Developing an operating plan for carrying out the development of strategic plan.
4. Manage all internal fundraising functions that support the Board and Executive Team.
5. This includes ensuring that marketing materials are on brand with organization, printed, electronic communication takes place as planned and maintained on a timely basis.
6. Assists in handling external fundraising activities under the direction of the COO and CEO.
a. Making presentations on behalf of Abide
b. Meeting with current or potential donors
c. Assisting in the “closing” effort for finalizing donation
d. Assigned responsibilities involving the Board or broader community.
7. Monitors the donor solicitation process and refines this process as necessary over time.
8. Oversees the maintenance of the donor database to ensure that it remains updated and accurate.
9. Develops grant proposals and research viable foundation fundraising opportunities.
10. Supports the planning and logistics for all community relations, fundraising events, and volunteer fundraising efforts.

Qualifications:
1. Education – A bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, organizational development , or related field.
2. Experience – It is strongly preferred that the Development Director has 3-5 years' experience in both fundraising and marketing. It is beneficial to candidates if this experience has been in a nonprofit organization.
