Responsibilities Position Summary: Under the general direction of the Pediatrics/PICU Manager this position is part of the multi-disciplinary health care team conducts activities which focus on the emotional and developmental needs of children and families using play and other forms of communication and education. Assesses recommends and develops programs and policies that will provide a safe therapeutic and age-appropriate pediatric environment. Qualifications Minimum: One (1) year in acute health. Bachelor’s degree in Child Life Child Development or related field. Must have knowledge of and skill in child life assessment techniques psychosocial care of hospitalized children and family dynamics bereavement support principles of pediatric growth cognitive and emotional development adult and child education principles and practices medical terminology and common pediatric injuries and illnesses. CHILDLIFE/PLAY THERAPY COORD = Certified Child Life Specialist.
