Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Manage the replenishment of materials and coordinate truckloads from various supplier locations, considering lead times, order quantities, storage needs, and shelf life.
• Determine optimal order quantities to balance demand with available financial and physical resources.
• Oversee reverse logistics in collaboration with cross-functional teams when material issues arise.
• Ensure compliance with volume, pricing, delivery terms, and accurate freight cost tracking.
• Handle crisis situations effectively and manage multiple priorities related to production materials.
• Lead supplier business reviews to drive performance improvements.
• Contribute to strategic sourcing efforts, including documentation, regulatory compliance, sample evaluations, and financial audits.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver value across the organization.

Requirements:

• Ability to work fully on-site.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
• Experience building collaborative relationships across departments, especially with plant operations.
• Skilled in supplier performance management and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ability to mentor and support junior purchasing staff.
• Experience in purchasing within a manufacturing environment, preferably food-related.
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as Syspro is a plus.
